Our Frugal Christmas House

christmas treeThis year I am absolutely in love with our “Christmas House!”  One of the best parts about decorating our house this year is that it didn’t cost us anymore than the $35 for our 5-foot tree!  Each year we make the trip to the tree farm and cut down our own tree; a tradition our whole family looks forward to each year!

kitchen lightsI LOVE bright colors so it is only fitting that I use color lights to decorate the house.  The strands of lights that I used are from our first house that we bought ten years ago!

penguinsOver the years my parents and in-laws have given us decorations that they no longer use at their houses!  Being that the penguins are one of our favorite exhibits at the zoo, we love seeing them around the house this season!

dining roomThese are all decorations given to me by my mom after she cleaned out her basement this fall!  Woo-hoo!  Love the red and green table cloth and Santa hanging on the china cabinet!

christmas cardsThe greenery was given to us by my mother in law last year along with the red beads.  I usually decorate that area with Christmas lights but wanted to add more greenery this year for a natural look.  I love that I can hang my Christmas cards from the greenery!stockingsMy mom made all of our stockings; mine when I was born and the boys when they were born.  Hubby got his when we got married.

I used all of our decorations upstairs because we are almost never downstairs.  It feels so festive, I LOVE it!  And to top it off, WE HAVE SNOW!

Please link to your Christmas House, I would love to come visit! :)
